My spies at Nitro in Europe have hit me with all the upcoming news for the team. First up, more info on Wiig’s movements – the word is he left Nitro after Vans canceled his $400,000 a year contract for boots and outerwear. Nitro didn’t want to shift other loyal team members to make budget available for Wiig to rep Nitro outerwear so the option of getting an all in one contract from Forum and Special Blend was the best move for him. Then, the Austin Smith rumors have proved false – Smith has signed with Nitro again. Eero Etala has signed for another two years… And the big news (which I’m looking forward to seeing) is that Gus St. Leon is going to be traveling and filming with the Road Warriors crew who produced an epic series of clips last year. Good work Gus! Finally – I’m waiting on a last piece of news to be confirmed which is rumored to be an Australian first for snowboarding. Stay tuned!
