Breaking Bad is Awesome – If you haven’t checked this out yet, you should. This is my new TV obsession and I will warn in advance, my write up here has a few spoilers in it so stop reading if you want to keep it as a surprise. I believe it’s airing at 9.30pm on Friday nights on ABC2 at the moment and if you can make it through the first few episodes you’ll be hooked. The show revolves around a scientist who had an amazing early career but over time, life has worked against him. The final straw is, he’s got terminal lung cancer. To ensure the financial security of his family, he takes to cooking meth … The show follows his transformation from meek and mild teacher to gnarly drug guy. Awesome show.

Lord Monckton Thinks gambling the future is a good idea – The minor British Peer and climate sceptic engaged in a debate in Adelaide over the weekend putting his ideas about climate change out there. He is no scientist but he doubts their figures … Whatever. Really the only questions I want to ask him is, are you willing to gamble the future of the planet on your hunch? What if you’re wrong? Isn’t it better to safeguard ourselves, even if it turns out we’re wrong, at least we’ll have been safe. Having said all that, I don’t 100% buy the more apocalyptic predictions but I still think I rather take the safe road.

Bucky Turco’s Got Some Stories to Tell – I had never heard of this guy before (although followers of the Hipster Grifter case might have). Bucky has been at the heart of some pretty big stories … Not ground breaking ones but interesting none the less. He exposed Bansky, he interviewed Kari Ferrell (Hipster Grifter) before she was jailed and he went and got footage from the World Trade Centre in New York on the night of September 11th … That footage only surfaced last year but it’s pretty crazy. Mafia Profits Up 8% Despite TET’s – The Mafia in Italy rose profits by an estimated 8% during the recent tough economic times (TET’s). The reason? Cash flush mobsters became a source of credit for small business owners that couldn’t get loans via traditional loansharks banks.
