This came to me via Renton Millar’s twitter feed – the Age today has an article on page three about a study which shatters traditional thinking on skateparks. The study, conducted by Graham Bradley and published in the Journal of Adolescent Research, found that the parks were “… harmonious, co-operative, safe and pleasant places. There was little aggression or bullying. It’s where some boys learn their social skills – sharing, turn-taking, respecting property.” It’s an interesting read that goes against all the current stereotypes of skateparks – check it out here.
