2010 Burton Cattlemans Rail Jam Wrap And Photos

Well it’s Sunday night and it’s all over. The 2010 Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam was a smash. Some big tricks, some never seen before tricks, and a new winner. By now you probably already know who won, but just in case here we go again.

First place went to Tom Pelley with tricks like a backside 270 on, 270 off, an onslaught of ‘twizels’ including a never seen before gap-to 50-50 frontside ‘twizel’. Tom was pushing to the very end and dislocated his shoulder on his last attempt.

Second place went to the winner of the past two Cattleman’s events, Robbie Walker. Robbie was his ever consistent self and got the crowd into it early with a backflip down the stairs. Matt Sedunary claimed best trick with an impressive inward 270 board slide on the centre rail.

The first 4 photos are thanks to Andrew Bibby and rest are Kit Rundle’s. Thanks.

Tom Pelley Wins Australia’s Premiere Snowboarding Event
Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam at Mt Buller

Mt Buller, Victoria (11th July, 2010) – Australia’s best snowboarders put on show for the 500+ spectators who braved the cold temperatures tonight for the 5th Annual Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam at Mt Buller. Presented by Burton Snowboards, the Cattleman’s Rail Jam is Australia’s premiere snowboarding rail event, attracting the country’s best snowboarders who battle it out for the $7,000 prize pool under lights in the Mt Buller village square.

Under wild weather it was Tom Pelley form Bright, Victoria, who took out the title impressing the judges with a wide array of tricks all night including a backside 270 on, 270 off and an onslaught of twizels including a never seen before gap to 50-50 frontside twizel. After taking a hard fall on his last hit of the night, Pelley dislocated his shoulder, landing himself in hospital. Despite the injury Pelley was at the after party and in high spirits. “I’m pumped on finally taking out Cattleman’s. I’ve had some bad luck in the past  and even a little this year with my shoulder however I’m just happy to have been able to put enough tricks down to take it out”

Second place was taken out by Mt Buller local Robbie Walker who is a two time past winner of the event. Although he fought hard for the hat-trick, Walker couldn’t match Pelley on the night. The best trick was awarded to Matt Sedunary who impressed the judges with an “inward 270 board slide” on the centre handrail
