Nokia/WESC Phone Contest Winners

So after much thinking things in my brain I’ve finally decided on 3 winners for the Nokia/WESC contest. In the 3rd issue we asked people to submit travel photos with a general craziness to them. Well we got plenty of sunsets, sunrises and mountain tops which, whilst pretty, were kind of hard to differenitate one from the other. Sorry if you didn’t win, there’s always next issue! Read more for the all the entrants and winners.

1. Ebonee Spence (Nokia/WESC Phone)

I liked this shot because it was actually part of a series of what looked like a bunch of good times in France.

2. Nelson McKey (WESC Clothing Pack)

I’m sure the guy didn’t actually hit him but it’s still pretty funny. What’s better is that some Australian guys would rather take photos of themselves being dickheads out the front of the Lourve than actually go in to see the Mona Lisa!

3. Alex Kutaysov (WESC Clothing Pack)

Now you are all probably aware that Alex had an interview in the 3rd issue so let explain why he’s still eligable. He was the first person to enter and the shot is pretty good. How fun does this day look? Heading into the back country with all of your friends to hit jumps and ride powder in sunshine. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Honorable mention: Jason Poon

Regardless of your stance on drugs, you’ve got to appreciate how crazy this story and picture Jason sent me is: ‘Me and a couple of buddys were surfing in Baja, Mexico and came across 2 blocks of weed which were sealed water tight floating on the shore one morning when we were heading for a surf. We estimated it at 200 pounds.’

Okay so here’s all the entrants we had. Keep in mind that some of them are my friends that I wouldn’t allow to win (damn cheaters).

Ebonee Spence’s other photos:

Here a couple of pics from my last trip to Europe…. you cant go wrong with a jump shot!!!!! And it would be rude not to be wearing a beret! Such punters in Paris!!! At the Lourve & Notre Damne Then there is one from Edinburgh castle and Morzine France. Just a couple of my favorites! Thought that it wouldnt hurt to send them off!

Nelson McKey’s other photos:

You asked for general craziness from around the world? How about some midnight fountain swimming? Strip poker in a crowded bar? Cat licking?

Alex Kutaysov’s other photos:

Now everyone else.

Aaron Zajonc:

Love the magazine and love the website. Best Wishes.

Alastair McCann:

Hey some travel photos for the competion… How many can u submit? Anyway first one is wakeboarding in Gothenburg Sweden, and second is this crazy Christmas festival in St Anton, Austria. Love what you guys are doing.

Bec Pleasant:

Hey guys. Photos from my trip to Prague with the girls earlier this year. Love the mag. Take it easy.

Ben Lonsdale:

Here is a photo of my friend roddy pissing in colorado after we discovered the back road we decided to take was blocked in winter from massive amounts of snow.

Ben Ventress:

Here’s my pic for the WESC/Nokia Comp. It’s of my friend Che and I at a house party in Malaga, Spain. We’d been driving around Europe for two months and at the start of the trip we made a ‘No shave, no hair cut’ pact. Needless to say, we looked fucked. We were invited to this party by some chick we half knew and decided that we needed to look our ‘best’. Well… one thrashed hostel room and an hour later we were looking HOT. Brand new mullets and sculpted facial hair would impress the senioritas for sure! The party was off the hook… no one spoke english, we spoke no spanish and we sung weird Spanish folk songs, danced with beautiful girls and got wasted on Sangria & San Miguel until well after the sun was up. The power of the mullet is undeniable! Viva La Mulletos!

You know what, cause you guys were screaming out for entries and I’m such a top bloke, all-round nice guy, good looking bastard I’ll throw some more pics your way. These are from this year in Kaiserslautern, the Rock am Ring and Hurricane festivals in Germany and Paris (in France, don’t know if you guys would have heard of this place, it’s pretty cool). I’ve also attached some travel shots for you from this year in Japan (Tokyo and Hakuba). Now that I reckon I’ve sufficiently clogged your inbox with low quality photos, I’ll leave you be. Unity.

Hey how are these entries, first pic is an awesome japan snowboard store in toyko called Minami it was at least eight stories high and no lie i spent 2 full days in there and when the sun came up on the third day i was extremely broke. if you look closely im the little guy standing near the front door. the secound pic is what you do in a japan airport when your snowed in and have no accom so you drink and sleep at the airport while playing with your snow skate of course until you get into trouble. thanks and when can we expect the next mag, should be some quality stuff in it.

Nathan Craig:

Neil McCann:

Getting crazy at sunset. In California giving a whole new meaning to riding in the shotgun seat! Bouldering near Bishop in California. Tarzan in Guatemala. Living it up on Volcan San Pedro. Crazy Mexicans showing how diving is done.

Nik Cotterell:

Hey there… I’ve been (sorta) keeping up on your blog and decided that I should throw a few photos at you. I spent a bit of time in Canada/USA over the past few years and in my travels collected a bunch of shots… From snowy March days in Vancouver, to bands dressed as Xmas gifts, to Halloween shows at warehouses called ‘Gnarnia’. Boat trips, bike races I’ve done ’em all. From bizarre public art to art-dispensing cigarettes machines, from weddings on golf courses to surf etiquette signs. From magical aquariums to awesome costumes, I’ve seen so much. I have had the best of times and the worst of times… and gathered a million stories to go with the gigabytes of photos. Just sorting through them all brought some great memories, and reminded me of some good friends…

Ollie:

I was lucky enough to go on a Surf to New Zealand with the Boys from Work back in March. This pic was taken at the top of the North Island on a walk into one of New Zealand’s longest left hander. Anyway it took us 45 mins to walk in and on the way back my Boss wanted a pic of him and the sand dunes. Little did he know that I was happily getting my white arse out and into the Pic. Its currently my Screen saver on my Computer at work and people go “oh that’s a nice photo and then they realise my arse!” There’s also a pic we took while on our way to Vegas for the weekend from Mammoth. It’s a long enough drive anyway, let alone to do it at night time with nothing to look at, and there is only so much that you can shoot with a Paint Ball Gun when you are in the Desert. Anyway, we stopped at the State Line of California and Nevada for a pic. We thought it would be a good idea to enjoy some Fire Works (that’s the bright light at the Bottom) some beers and shoot up both signs with our Paint Ball Guns.

Pauline:

These are from our trip to Lake Tahoe last season and both taken on south lakes mean streets, one for the ladies out there and a bit of artsy photo, you feeling me.
