Occy was in the Melbourne Central Billabong store yesterday signing copies of his new book - ‘Occy: The Rise and Fall and Rise of Mark Occhilupo‘. The shopping centre got pretty crowded with well over 150 crew packing in to get his signature. Occy spent an hour signing before having to take off. Click below the cut for a few more photos of the afternoon.

Last night, I hit up the Melbourne premiere for the new Rusty film Changes (trailer above). What I got to see of the night was awesome - free beer, good people and a fashion parade. Unfortunately, I had an excessively early morning this morning so I had to bail before the film actually rolled. Still, I’m hoping that our Rusty friends can hook me up and let me review the film. Thanks to Ryan for inviting me along and click below the cut to see a tonne of pics from the night including the summer fashion/swimwear parade.

Last night I was in for a treat! I tuned into 60 Minutes to catch a thing on the drug cartel wars in Mexico when I found Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones doing a segment on surfing at a place called Pedra Branca - not somewhere I’ve heard of before. Apparently it was only known to a few fisherman, or so reporter Ben Fordham tells me. Anyway, 60 Minutes usually posts up the segments on their site, so keep your eyes on here to check it out.

At 11am today - that’s right, 11am Sunday morning - I attended the St. Kilda Skate Park Rally. Unfortunately the crowd was a little thin (I have a hunch that this had to do with the fact that it was 11AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING) but the people that attended listened to valid, reasoned, sensible arguments as to why the opposition’s objections to the park are unjustified. There were several magazine people there as well as local government representatives and pro skaters, like Renton Millar, who has spearheaded the push for the park to happen. Good work to everyone that made it down there this morning. We’ll have more information soon on the happenings with this park, in the mean time head over here to check out the plans.

I know this has been on the site a lot in the last few weeks but this is just another quick reminder that TOMORROW at 11AM is the rally for the skate park in St. Kilda, Victoria. If you’re in the local area (and even if you aren’t) you should be there to support this. Ben Hoban has written an amazing blog for us on the hypocracy of the oponents of the St. Kilda skate park, click here to check it out. Hope to see you there!
