Sally Fitsgibbons wins the women’s final at Bells
Today Sally (AUS) was at the pinnacle of her career, winning her first ASP Women’s World Title event, after she managed to beat ASP Women’s World No. 1 Carissa Moore (HAW), sewing it up in the last couple of minutes, and riding right onto the beach fists in the air.

Sally Fitzgibbons, the young upstart from the NSW South Coast, has put her stamp all over Bells with her first big win in great surf against fellow new schooler Carissa Moore.
Carissa Moore’s Nike World Champ Clip
Carissa Moore was crowned ASP Women’s World Champion over the weekend after coming in second against Steph Gilmore in the final at the Roxy Pro in France. Moore needed to make position one to three, and for Sally Fitzgibbons not to win to clinch the title at this event. Nike has put together a rad clip to celebrate the 18 year olds win – check it out below!

The delights of Rio are only interesting to professional surfers for so long. There’s a comp to be run, after all, and yesterday it finally kicked off.

The new female crew are surfing at a level way beyond girls just a few years older than them. Most of ‘em are whip smart and look great in their bikinis. Yet despite some great sponsorship opportunities (and Nike 6.0’s forthcoming movie), they’re still being overlooked.
Bells Round 3
It validated everyones claims that the swell was big, and with that, kicked everyone off the beach as it was declared “too dangerous”. Not too dangerous for the surfers, but all the same they were pushing it right to the boundary with the last sections of their precious waves, taking them precariously close to the rocks.
