Adidas have re-upped their skateboarding site and beefed it up with plenty of new content. Whilst it probably won’t make you do this, it always good to see the Gonz rip around. Also good to remember that Adidas was the first company to endorse rappers (RUN-DMC) to promote shoes. Smart move? I say yes. Check it out here.

Legendary skater/surfer/director Stacey Peralta recently premiered his lastest documentary ‘Made In America‘ at the LA Film Fest. The film chronicles the history of gang violence between the Bloods and Crips in southern Los Angeles. A far cry from much of his other work, ‘Dogtown and Z-Boys‘ and ‘Riding Giants‘, there still seems so to be so many awesome aspects to the film. Baron Davis is credited as a producer, and it is narrated by Forrest Whittaker, with Stacey Peralta at the helm this equals a triple dose of awesome. No word on an Australian Release yet, but fingers crossed it makes it to our neck of the woods.

The folks over at Emerica have uploaded a little video of Andrew Reynolds talking tech to coincide with the release of his new pro-model shoe, the Reynolds Lights. Not too much action in the clip, but it is pretty interesting to hear about how much actually goes in to making a technical skateboard shoe. It’s not all about pretty colors you know… Plus I love 3D graphics as much as the next guy so it definately worth a look. Good enough for a guy with OCD, good enough for me.

I had a little chat with Melbourne skater Andrew Borphy today. He showed me his new deck shape he has been working for Cliche. He says it will be a little larger than your average board, and the graphics will be a lot different than in the photos. The silver one is the 1st generation, and the yellow one is the current generation. For those skate nerds out there, you’ll also notice some new DVS shoes in the shots. These are some early prototypes of his new Am shoe for DVS. Pretty slick looking shoe so far and I can’t wait to see what he finishes up with. The kid is killing it. Read on to see more photos.

Probably boring Industry news I know, but Compton Ass Terry Kennedy aka TK is officially on Supra Footwear. There have been rumours flying around for a while now, but i guess this gives everybody who has been losing sleep a little closure. Makes sense, according to the Supra website Lil Wayne loves Supra and he is a rapper. TK is on Supra and he is a Rapper. Rappers love shoes. See where I’m going with this…. Nope? Me either.

News just in is that Paul Rodriguez and Pierre Luc Gagnon took out the 100K and 75k prize purse at the Maloof money cup. You may remember this post a few weeks back about this competition. Not a bad days work for the two, not that P-Rod exactly needs it now that he is a mega super star actor.

According to Kochie, Melbourne City Council are considering handing out $100 fines to skateboarders riding their ‘toy vehicles’ in front of public buildings and other places they don’t belong (not unlike the police car above). You can see the article here, and there is a nice little video where the bald guy interviews an old guy from the ‘Pedestrian Council’. Not sure what it takes to join the council, but I think I would qualify, and as long as you have legs you probably would too. I have always maintained that skateboarding is the sport for criminals and junkies, not like, lets say…. AFL. Sport of true gentleman. I would be happy to trade the footpath with the aging population if they can stay out of their cars and off the road. Nothing has been finalised yet, but we may as well fine 14 year kids for having fun.

For years I have pondered how to increase the awesomeness of my snakeboard, and then one day (today) without any effort, this bad ass street destroying grinding machine finds its way into my inbox. Seems I had it all backwards. I had been trying to add more wheels when all I had to do was remove two, fit shopping trolley ‘trucks’ and glue on some aircraft grade aluminum for the ‘G’ (I have been looking all over girls for the G. It’s on a ripstik, save yourself the expensive dinners and romantic conversation). In my search for extremeness, I have seen some totally awesome things over the years, but finally the search is over. The sad thing is most of the links remind me of snowboarding.
