MTV and Rob Dyrdek have a new show coming out that goes by the name of ‘Fantasy Factory‘. Not entirely sure what the show is going to be about, but considering it is on MTV, it’s probably not about much. That said, there has been a bunch of photographs released showing the ’set’ and it’s pretty impressive. From what I can see there is a house, office, basketball court, street plaza, and even a T-Rex!! No word on a release date yet, so until then, enjoy some of the photos after the cut.

In case you didn’t understand the title, I meant that Tony Hawk (Pro Skater) is featured in the latest ad for Guitar Hero 4 World Tour. Directed by Brett Ratner, who is responsible for such classic films as ‘Rush Hour‘ and ‘Rush Hour 2‘, the ad is either ripping off or paying homage to ‘Risky Business‘. I think it’s pretty cool that Tony is now in the same league as dudes like A-Rod, Michael Phelps and Kobe Bryant, those are some serious A-List ballers.

Just a quick heads up for anyone who skateboards and/or enjoys dressing up, the annual Halloween skate comp at Riverside park in Melbourne is back on the 31st of October. There is a bunch of money up for grabs and guaranteed to be a bunch of freaks walking around in cool gear. On top of all that, our good mates at the Blue Tile Lounge are having the afterparty, good times.

At 11am today - that’s right, 11am Sunday morning - I attended the St. Kilda Skate Park Rally. Unfortunately the crowd was a little thin (I have a hunch that this had to do with the fact that it was 11AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING) but the people that attended listened to valid, reasoned, sensible arguments as to why the opposition’s objections to the park are unjustified. There were several magazine people there as well as local government representatives and pro skaters, like Renton Millar, who has spearheaded the push for the park to happen. Good work to everyone that made it down there this morning. We’ll have more information soon on the happenings with this park, in the mean time head over here to check out the plans.

I know this has been on the site a lot in the last few weeks but this is just another quick reminder that TOMORROW at 11AM is the rally for the skate park in St. Kilda, Victoria. If you’re in the local area (and even if you aren’t) you should be there to support this. Ben Hoban has written an amazing blog for us on the hypocracy of the oponents of the St. Kilda skate park, click here to check it out. Hope to see you there!

This one comes via Skatedaily but it’s on the Sneaker Freaker website. So I’m double stealing today. Anyway there’s a multi part series on the history of skate shoes. There’s a bit in there if you’re a freak for sneakers. In fact if maybe this post is better left for Monday morning when you’re really looking for an excuse not to do work.
