FIS La Molina Slopestyle Results

The first FIS slopestyle competition was held in La Molina, Spain over the weekend. According to ESPN, “Nineteen year old Seppe Smits, from the flat country of Belgium, has just become the very first FIS-backed World Champion of Slopestyle Snowboarding today in La Molina, Spain.”

There’s no official release as yet but apparently “Due to the small size of the jump in La Molina, and the softness of the landing, competitors were held to 1080 variations during the finals.” According to Smitts, the “course and the judging were not ideal” – this is likely to further fuel the debate reignited last weke in the open letter from Terje (see the report here).

Robbie Walker competed and placed 23rd – we’re waiting on details from him at the moment. For more, hit the ESPN article here.
