Shaun White Off Red Bull

We reported the rumor back here but now it's official, Shaun White and Red Bull have been unable to reach a new agreement to extend his contract with them. If the whispers are right, White is getting a cool US$1,000,000 a year at the moment with the new asking price hitting three times that... From purely a marketing perspective, do you think he's worth that much? I've gotta say, it sounds cheap to me - this is the most recognizable face in the sport. The guys silhouette alone can identify him to a lot of people and he's ranked as the second most powerful athlete in the US - do you think Kobe would sign up for that kind of cash? I doubt it.
