You would have read our other two posts about our friend Rob’s photo book, SLIDE. I had a chance to read a friends copy last week, and holy crap it’s good. I didn’t think I was old enough to be nostalgic about snowboarding, but evidently I am. When I saw a photo from the opening scene of Forum’s ‘The Resistence’ I was taken aback. Click here and buy it right now.

Word on the street is that the Brain Farm crew have had some troubles with the DVD cover for ‘That’s It, That’s All’ and as result, is not available for purchase yet. Once again, the internet has come to the rescue and you can now purchase the whole movie on iTunes. After a quick look around and I also found that Forum Snowboards ‘Forum or Against Em’ is also up for grabs. I recommend watching them both on the biggest screen you can find, and not on your ipod whilst sitting on the toilet.

Loyal subscriber and POP friend Tamara sent through some photos of The Stash at the Remarkables in New Zealand a couple of months ago. She also sent some photos of Jye Kearney at the Parklife Rail Jam in Queenstown. Being the shit dudes that we are, we forgot to post them back when there was snow on the ground. Sorry T, we’ll make it up to. More photos under the cut.

Earlier this week I caught a flight to Canberra. Why you ask? Because that’s where the Australian SIA tradeshow is. POP didn’t have a booth or anything, so for Dave and I, it was a all about the Bromance. Fine by me and fine by all the companies that were more than happy for us to come by their booth’s and shoot the shit. There’s about a hundred photos below of everything we were allowed to take photos of. So get your wish list together and start saving.

Tonight I attended the premiere for Mack Dawg’s latest, Double Decade, at Trigger Bros. in St. Kilda, Melbourne. The guys put on free hot dogs (!) and beer (!!) for during the film and I think almost everyone there was pretty stoked with the final installment from MDP. I know there’s a lot of people out there who would disagree but personally, my favorite part of the film was the first trick in Heikki Sorsa’s section - for the filming as much as the trick. Check below the cut for a bunch of photos from the night and thanks to the guys at Triggers for having me along!

Whilst perusing the Trigger Brothers website for info on Mack Dawg premiere and the upcoming Mt Buller BBQ, I came across this nostalgic little gem. It is a little walk down memory lane for snowboarding in Australia, or at least in Victoria. It’s pretty cool to read about some of the pioneers of the sport in the country and the shit they had to put up with. Talking about the past is flavor of the month so get your knowledge on.

Burton’s newest snowboard film, ‘It’s Always Snowing Somewhere’ has just been released. I’m heading up to Canberra to see a premiere Burton are doing for anyone that’s lucky enough to be attending the Australian SIA trade show. If you’re not going to SIA then don’t stress, Burton have 5 copies of the two disc double feature to give away! What’s the catch you ask? Just email your name and postal address to burtonaustralia@burton.com.au and they’ll send out a copy to 5 random people. That’s pretty easy. Do you know how many people actually enter these contests? I don’t either, so be quick!
