A few days ago we got the urge to go snowmobiling, or ’sledding’ to the uninitiated. I woke up at 6am and met up with my backcountry guide Nick Gregory to go scout some spots before the rest of the guys met us at the trail-head. If that sounds to you as being a little too ambitious for a bunch of kids from Australia with little-to-no sledding experience or time in the backcountry, you’d be right. It quickly turned into a disaster with half the team getting lost on the way to the sled rental place, Gregory getting his sled stuck above a valley of sled-eating-trees and breaking a fuel line (which we would later find out wasn’t broken at all, it was a run off valve). It sure is hard making a snowboard film. Not to worry, we’re heading to Tahoe to try again!
Thanks to Nick Gregory for doing all the hard work for me.
